Merchants against poverty and sickness (MAPAS), was setup by like minded individuals that believe even the smallest of efforts and opportunity can make a significant impact on the social and economic lives of the poor. We think entrepreneurially and insist on results from our social investments. Our philosophy is one of empowerment. We passionately believe that empowering people through integrated and multiple development initiatives is the most responsible and dignified way of helping the very poor and vulnerable to help themselves out of a cycle of poverty.

Our charity generates income like a business and measures its success like a business. Our shareholders are the very poor living today in abject poverty. We are conscious of our responsibility to them and ensure they receive the very best rate of return through multiple enterprise development initiatives. The profits we hope to generate are social profits that will create sustainability and benefit in poor rural communities

Our strategy has three key elements: Humanitarian, Development and Enterprise.
